The Great Otway National Park follows the winding curves of Victoria's famous Great Ocean Road boasting some of Australia's most spectacular coastal scenery. Coastal towns such as Lorne, Wye River, Skenes Creek and Apollo Bay nestle into rolling green hills, some cleared, some densely forested, providing a dramatic backdrop for the ocean swells of Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean. This Duke of Edinburgh expedition will provide you with a unique insight into the Great Ocean Walk trail as you walk past dramatic coastal terrain including the iconic 12 Apostles.

Day 1
Arrive Melbourne. Airport pick up, shopping, packing, transfer, prep & walk to camp.

Pick Melbourne late morning, Guides check group's gear and do brieifng at airport. Trasfer to Geelong for shopping. Transfer to drop off Shelley Beach, food, packs etc and do brief. Group walks to Elliot Ridge Camp.

Day 2
Elliot Ridge Camp to Blanket Bay Camp, 20km, 7 hours

1 Guide, teachers & students walk 20km, 7 hours.

Meals: Nil

Day 3
Blanket Bay Camp to Aire River Camp, 17km, 6 hours

1 Guide, teachers & students walk 17km, 6 hours.

Meals: Nil

Day 4
Aire River Camp to Johanna Beach camp, 13km, 5 hours

1 Guide, teachers & students walk 13km, 5 hours.

Meals: Nil

Day 5
Johanna Beach camp to Ryans Den Camp, 14km, 6 hours - depart for Melbourne

1 Guide, teachers & students walk 14km, 6 hours. Depart for Melbourne after seeing Twelve Apostles

Learning outcomes for students

• basic outdoor skills obtained on trek such as personal hygiene, pitching a tent, helping to prepare meals
Importantly our adventures help increase general well-being and build resilience in young citizens to help them deal with adverse situations in life.
