After breakfast, transfer to Gaya Island (10 minutes road & 15 minutes speedboat). The marine conservation programs are conducted under the supervision of our fully qualified team of instructors at a PADI 5 Star IDC Career Development Centre on Gaya Island. Participants will learn about the role coral plays within the environment through our “Coral For Life” presentation and we will elaborate and show the differences between healthy and damaged coral in its natural environment and the threats upon them. Participants will collect broken corals and replant them to artificial reef structures – giving back life! We start and end the program with a beach clean up so the students can see the effects of the rubbish coming back overnight. We also discuss ways in which everyone can help reduce their own environmental footprint in everyday life. Overnight: Eco Lodge, gender separated dormitory with communal bathroom.

From Kota Kinabalu City we transfer one and half hours overland to the countryside through the valley of Kiulu. Upon arrival at the riverside campsite, be greeted with a warm welcome from our hosts. A traditional lunch will be served comprising organic locally produced food. In the afternoon, you will be taken for a walk around the village, paddy fields and orchards to learn about the villages environmental way of life and the various herbal and medicinal plants they have used for generations. You will be picking your own fresh fruit and vegetables ready to cook for dinner during this farm-to-table experience. It is free and easy in the evening - you may take a dip in the refreshingly cool Kiulu River. After dinner, we will light a bonfire and watch the night sky come alive to dazzle you - with no light pollution the milky way can often be seen as it rotates through space. Overnight: Riverside Campsite

Wake up to the sounds of the flowing river and be energised with a hearty breakfast. Today we will trek through stunning landscapes as we explore the rainforest, villages and orchard farms in the Kiulu Valley.
