Unique Cambodia
Your students immerse themselves into the amazing historical city of Siem Reap and explore the awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage-listed Angkor Temples. They’ll experience the floating villages of Tonle Sap, cruise along the mighty Mekong River, and discover breathtaking scenery in Cambodia’s quiet and remote communities. The vibrant capital Phnom Penh reveals a different side of the country, offering insights into Cambodia’s moving and tragic history under the Khmer Rouge regime. To enrich the experience, groups can attend a circus run by an NGO supporting vulnerable young people, dine at restaurants operated by organisations helping street children, and for the more adventurous, there’s even the chance to sample Cambodia’s famous fried tarantula.
Cultural Immersion
Cultural immersion in Cambodia is rich and varied. With your local Cambodian guide students can take part in traditional Khmer cooking classes, experiencing the incredible flavours and techniques of local cuisine. They may find themselves learning traditional dances, donning beautiful costumes that reflect Cambodia’s vibrant heritage. Staying in peaceful rural communities, students will see daily life up close and even float in canoes as local women share generations of fishing stories. Throughout the journey, students will encounter living traditions that date back to the Khmer Empire, which continue to shape Cambodia’s culture today.
Service Learning
Cambodia offers some of the most genuine and meaningful service-learning opportunities available. Our strong relationships with trusted NGOs allow students to engage in real projects that have a lasting impact. They might assist with clean water initiatives by helping to install bio-sand filters, bringing safe drinking water to villages and schools for the first time. Schools can participate in building houses and constructing toilet blocks, vital contributions to community infrastructure. In Phnom Penh, students can go behind the scenes and support wildlife conservation through animal enrichment project. Just outside Siem Reap, our longest-running NGO partnership focuses on improving local schools by providing essential infrastructure and teaching resources. As teachers, you and your student group can choose a variety of projects to engage with, or focus your efforts on one or two key initiatives, becoming part of successful, ongoing programmes that continue year-round.
Physical Challenges
Cambodia’s natural beauty and welcoming communities create the perfect environment for adventure experiences. Students can enjoy stunning walks to waterfalls, paired with the adventure of staying in authentic group homestays, providing a real taste of rural life. Easy cycling journeys through ancient temples and remote villages offer a dynamic way to experience Cambodia’s landscape and culture, creating opportunities for fun, fitness, and connection. These physical challenges are designed to be accessible and enjoyable, adding an exciting element that perfectly complements the service and cultural aspects of the trip.
