Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland) is Africa’s last remaining true monarchy. Known for its laid-back friendly people, rich Swazi culture and stunning landscapes. It is a beautiful, hilly Kingdom that provides insight into traditional life for those that take the time to experience it. The mountains in the north and the classic African savannah in the south provide a perfect mix of adventure and culture. Of course, a wildlife safari is a must, and for Eswatini it’s easy, we simply transfer to Kruger National Park at the end or beginning of the trip for a couple of nights/days to spot the Big 5 and much more.
Unique Eswatini: One of Africa’s only remaining monarchies. The friendlies people anywhere in the world. Traditional agricultural practices. The perfect mix of immersion, regenerative service projects and adventures make it an ideal destination for any school group.
Cultural Immersion: Experience and immerse yourselves in the unique Swazi culture. Eswatini has incredibly peaceful and friendly people, whether it’s the local Guides, drivers and cooks or the local people who meet the group during treks, service project or wildlife safaris, students will be immersed in an age-old way of life that they will remember long after returning home.
Service Learning: Join with a local NGO to complete ethical conservation programs and/or community development focussed on education and childcare. Most of our schools decide to complete two service learning experiences so they can contribute to both conservation and community development. During these phases our school group stay locally to be truly immersed with our NGO partners, Guides and cooks looking after the group.
Physical Challenges: It’s a perfect location for school groups to choose daypack or full-pack trekking options. Whether it’s Mhlumeni Wilderness Area / Mlawula Nature Reserve and/or Malolotja Nature Reserve school groups can spend several nights, or just a few, surrounded by unique and important conservation areas with rich biodiversity, globally recognized geology, and ancient archaeological sites while our trek Guides, cooks and drivers look after the logistics.
