We arrive at Whitsunday Coast Airport and transfer to Airlie Beach, where the excitement of the expedition begins. After meeting our kayaking guides, we are fitted with equipment, learn how to pack our dry bags, and receive an overview of the journey ahead. We set up camp together and settle into our coastal surroundings. As the afternoon winds down, will have a stroll on the boardwalk and share our first group dinner - a great chance to build anticipation for the days of sea kayaking and island exploration to come. We spend the day in the Airlie Beach area taking part in a cultural and environmental education experience that helps us understand the unique region we are about to explore. Through hands-on activities and guided discussions, we learn about local marine ecosystems, sustainable tourism, and Traditional Owner connections to Country. This slower-paced day allows us to ask questions, reflect, and gain a deeper appreciation of the natural environment, setting a meaningful foundation for our upcoming time on the water and on the islands. We transfer to Shute Harbour and board a water taxi bound for the world-famous Whitehaven Beach. On arrival, we set up our island camp and prepare for our first paddle. Kayaking across calm waters, we make our way to nearby Haslewood Island where we snorkel among coral and fish before taking a short walk to a lookout with sweeping coastal views. Returning to camp, we unwind, enjoy the island atmosphere, and settle into our first night beneath the stars. Accommodation: Beach Camping

Today we kayak the full length of Whitehaven Beach, with the white silica sand and turquoise water stretching alongside us. Reaching Hill Inlet, we cool off with a swim before walking up to the famous lookout for incredible views of swirling sands below. After lunch, we paddle back to camp at a relaxed pace. The afternoon offers time for optional island walks, beach exploration, or quiet reflection as we enjoy our remote island setting. Accommodation: Beach Camping

We pack up camp and transfer by mini-barge to our second island - South Molle Island. We'll get a different perspective of our setting and enjoy watching the islands drift past while giving our arms a rest! Once ashore, we set up camp and quickly settle into our new island life. The afternoon is spent exploring the cove, snorkelling in clear, sheltered water, and relaxing on the beach. It’s a chance to slow down, enjoy our surroundings, and appreciate the sense of adventure that comes with moving camp by sea. Accommodation: Beach Camping

We spend the day actively exploring South Molle Island from both the water in our kayaks and snorkel masks, and from land in our walking shoes. Using the island’s network of walking tracks, we hike through rainforest, grasslands, and eucalyptus forest, climbing to lookouts with sweeping views across the Whitsunday Passage. Along the way, we learn about the island’s cultural significance to the Ngaro people, the Traditional Owners of the Whitsundays, including ancient quarry and camping sites that show thousands of years of connection to Country. We pack up camp and wave goodbye to the Islands as we begin our paddle back to Shute Harbour. From there, we transfer back to Airlie Beach, marking a return to familiar ground after days on the islands. The afternoon is spent exploring town, and enjoying some downtime together, and buying any souvenirs we wish to take home. In the evening, we gather for a final group dinner, sharing highlights, challenges, and memories from an unforgettable Whitsundays adventure. Accommodation: Camping/Cabins

We enjoy a final breakfast together before transferring to Proserpine Airport. As we fly home, we reflect on what we have experienced — from learning new skills and exploring remote islands to stepping out of our comfort zones and working as a team. The journey comes to an end, but the memories, confidence, and connections we have built carry on well beyond the trip.
