Arrive at Pisa airport where you will be met by your guide before taking a transfer to the city. There will be an opportunity to stop and view the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, standing 56 metres high on an almost 4-degree slant, before transferring to the hostel in Florence. Dinner will be supplied in a local restaurant, providing a taste of the Italian cuisine.

This morning you will have a guided tour of the Uffizi gallery, displaying ancient sculptures and paintings from the Middle Ages to the modern period. You will then have a self-guided tour of Galleria dell'Accademia which is famous for its Michelangelo sculptures, particularly his David. In the afternoon, you will participate in a pizza and gelato cooking class, furthering the emersion into Italian foods. Dinner will be provided through the class. The group is to split in two if there is over 20 people and the classes will take place at different times.

Engage in a 3-hour sculpture workshop at Leonardo DaVinci Art School and begin to learn Italian with a 1.5 hr introductory lesson with a local teacher, allowing basic communication with locals. A guided tour or workshop will then take place at Museo Galileo as well as a guided tour at Dante’s House.

After breakfast, transfer to Volterra (approximately 1.30 hours) where a local guide will take you to view the main sites of the city and visit a traditional Alabaster workshop in a half day tour. The remainder of the day is free for exploration under the supervsion of your teachers before dinner in a local restaurant.

After breakfast, transfer to Florence (approximately 1.30 hours) to catch a train to Naples (approximately 3 hours) where a local guide will greet you at the station and transfer you to Pompeii (30 minutes). You will have a guided tour to visit sites along with the Pompeii archaeological site, the remains of a city devasted from a volcanic eruption in 79 AD. Transfer back to Naples and your hotel to have dinner in a local restaurant.

Transfer to Ercolano (30 minutes) for a full day excursion. With a local guide, visit Herculaneum archaeological site, a place also buried under volcanic ash and pumice from the Mount Vesuvius eruption of 79 AD. Transfer to Rome (approximately 3.50 hours) where a local guide will take you on a 3-hour tour in the Colosseum as well as the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.

You will be issued a one-day public transport pass for morning self-guided visits. You may visit the Campo di Fiori Market, one of the oldest markets in Rome, as well as famous Roman Piazzas such as Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, and more. In the afternoon, there will be a guided Vatican Tour where you will enter Vatican Museums including the Sistine Chapel and visit St. Peter’s Basilica, a Renaissance style church.
