Today is the start of a very special week in beautiful Turkey! You will be met at the Antalya airport by a World Youth Adventures representative and drive towards Kas; on our way we take time to visit Goynuk Canyon for a short walk and ancient site of Myra. Goynuk Canyon is one of the most interesting places in the region around Kemer; with great natural beauties; wonderful waterfalls and pine forests. Our walk begins close to the village of Goynuk, following gravel roads and walking paths into the canyon. The canyon is in the centre of the inspiring Taurus Mountain range, covered with pine forests and a range of local wildlife. At the end of the track we take time for a picnic break where you can take a refreshing dip in the ice cold water or explore the nearby waterfalls. In the late afternoon we return to the village on the same way and continue to Myra ancient city. There is no substantiated written reference for Myra before it was listed as a member of the Lycian alliance, according to Strabo it was one of the largest towns of the alliance. The ruins of the Lycian and Roman town are mostly covered by alluvial silts. The Acropolis on the Demre-plateau, the Roman theatre and the Roman baths has been partly excavated. In the early evening we arrive in Kas, where we spend the night at the hotel. Overnight: Kekova Hotel or similar

The project work will be confirmed closer to the time though most probably be in assisting a village school improve its learning environment for its students by helping to brighten the school grounds with fresh paint inside and out, and repairing of the desks, chairs and other classroom equipment. It is a valuable reminder of the different facilities available to the students here and the importance of education in creating opportunity. In the late afternoon we return back to Kas. Overnight: Kekova Hotel or similar

Start your kayaking adventures off right by learning essential paddling and safety skills on calm water. This trip will also be good introduction to sea-kayaking; covering equipment and paddling technique. Practicing basic skills in calm waters and warm temperatures ensures a comfortable and enjoyable learning experience. The tour begins from Big Pebble Beach or Kas harbour; while beginners are being informed about sea kayaking, experienced kayakers can use this time to warm-up their paddling muscles close to shore. We then begin to kayak together towards the isolated Sebeda Coast, which are accessible other than by water. Here you will get magnificent views of the tombs that are carved into sheer rocks on steep hills above. We stop for lunch in the in a scenic spot on the way to Limanagzi Beach. Where we can land the kayaks and swim in the inviting turquoise waters. In the afternoon, wind goddesses allowing we kayak from Inceburun to Kas and thus test our recently acquired skills in the open water. On a lucky day, we may have an encounter with Mediterranean Monk Seals (Monachus monachus) and Sea Turtles (Caretta caretta). We return to Kas for some well earned rest. The terrain in the hills above Kas are superb for mountain biking, often with breath-taking views over the coast. A brilliant ride awaits us today, after breakfast we will be transported to the mountain plateau (Yayla) way above the town of Kas; at an altitude of around 1.200m. From here we start our ride across the plain below the Nine Lake Mountains, later descending down towards sea level. Along the way the scenery is spectacular; mountain valleys, streams, canyons, unknown ancient cities and authentic mountain villages with a mixture of little used asphalt and rough roads. This afternoon is our last afternoon in Kas so it may be a good opportunity to pick up a momento of your time here or a gift for loved one at home and perhaps take the a final sunset from the Roman Amphitheatre. A short transfer takes us to the village of Ucagiz , where we start our boat trip and travel out to Kekova Island, famous for its sunken city. Kekova is also a great place for coastal scenery as well as the archaeological sites, well preserveddue to them not being easily accessible. A pleasant excursion by boat is the best way to see the ruins on the northern coast of Kekova island, some of the old houses were completely submerged due to earthquakes during the Byzantine period. By boat, we go round the island, where you can see remains down to 2 meters deep, in the bluish light on the seabed. Coming ashore on Kekova Island we will walk up to the Simena Castle, rewarding us with a magnificent view of the surrounding area. In the late afternoon we return to Antalya where we will spend the night. Overnight: Blue Garden Hotel or similar

After breakfast we drive to Koprulu Canyon National park, covering an area of around 366 square kilometres. The canyon itself is 400m deep in some places stretches for 14 km along the Kopru River. The valley is rich of wild beauty in flora and fauna, including red pine, black pine, cedar, fir, oak varieties and wild olives. The Roman Oluklu Bridge (Olukluköprü) over the canyon and the Bugrum Bridge over the Kocadere stream were engineering feats of their time. It is in this location that we will get the heart pumping with some wild water rafting. From the raft is one of the best ways to see this area and you’ll be amazed with the beauty of the natural canyons. The rafting route will be around 12 km and will take around 4 h. At the end of the route we will have lunch in the riverside. In the late afternoon we will drive to Selge ancient city; an important city in Pisidia, on the southern slope of Mount Taurus. The remains of the city consist mainly of parts of the encircling wall and of the acropolis. A few traces have survived of the gymnasium, the stoa, the stadium and the basilica. There are also the outlines of two temples, but the best conserved monument is the theatre, restored in the 3rd century AD. In the late afternoon we return to Antalya and visit the Ecological Research Societies (EKAD) facility in Belek Beach close to Antalya. Here an employee of EKAD will talk you through what it is that they do at their facility and the their work with the Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta Caretta), who use the beaches of Southern Turkey as a nesting site in the mid to late summer months. After our final dinner we will transfer to the airport for your flight back to Baku, departing just after midnight.
